Post #10 - The Secure Hands: Breaking the Chains of Fear in Uncertainty
Why Being a Child of God is Your Ultimate Freedom
The word “secure,” as defined by Merriam-Webster, means “to relieve from exposure to danger and to make safe against adverse contingencies.” Synonyms such as “protect,” “defend,” and “safeguard” evoke a profound sense of peace.
As we navigate the world in 2025, it may feel like chaos surrounds us. From global unrest to the private struggles we each face, uncertainty has become the norm. Yet amidst this turmoil, there is a source of profound comfort: the assurance of God’s unwavering protection. Being a child of the Most High God means we rest in secure hands, no matter the storms we encounter.
Let me be clear: being in secure hands does not imply that God will shield us from trials and tribulations. Instead, it compels us to anchor ourselves in two vital truths: the identity of our divine Father and the sovereignty He holds over our lives and the world around us. As His beloved children, we are cherished and held close, enabling us to grow, transform, and ultimately fulfill His purpose for us. Embrace this truth and break free from fear. The ultimate freedom lies in knowing that we are always in secure hands.
Not Everyone Who Believes is a Child
When I speak of ‘God’s children,’ I’m not referring to everyone who believes in Him. It’s not about being a good person; it’s about a unique, personal relationship with Him.
2 Timothy 2:19 (AMP) states explicitly, “The Lord knows those that are his.” God knows those who stand for righteousness and have set themselves apart to obey and do His will on earth.
John 10:27-28 (AMP) is a passage that always marinates in my soul: “The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever (by any means) perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand.”
That verse reminds me of how valuable you are, that His love is so deep and powerful, He wouldn’t allow anyone to snatch you out of His secure hands. His love is a fortress, providing you with safety and protection.
The Call to Listen
If you are a child of God and have not yet heard His voice, I urge you to pause and listen. Please clear your schedule, shut off all distractions, and earnestly ask your Father to tell you what is hindering your ability to hear His voice clearly for guidance. Remember, seeking God’s voice is a crucial part of our spiritual journey.
Need to hear His voice? Here’s where to start:
Please feel free to get on your knees.
Sit by the side of your bed.
Step into a quiet closet.
You can go ahead and park your car in a designated spot.
When Affliction Comes
When believers in Jesus Christ experience affliction, it’s easy to become distracted and distant from our Heavenly Father. It’s normal, even reasonable, to ask the question, “Why me?”
Anytime I drift into that kind of thinking, I remember the statements from John 15:20-25 (AMP):
“If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you (John 15:20).”
“They hated me without cause (John 15:25).”
During these times of being lied to, hated, or even isolated, even by other believers, we find our comfort and support in God’s word and in constant prayer for wisdom and guidance. This is where we can always turn for reassurance. There have been times in my life when I’ve wanted to act on my emotions, but God has had me hold my tongue and pause to sit with Him before speaking or taking action. It’s important to be obedient in all you do so you can remain in God’s will for your life. No matter what it costs or what you lose, your only desire should be to please Him above everyone else.
The Ultimate Benefit
God is a keeper to those who want to be kept. He is inviting those who are lost or feel astray to return home. The ultimate benefit of being in secure hands during uncertainty is this: You don’t have to wonder if everything will be alright. There is a knowing in your spirit regarding the promises of the Lord, which should fill you with hope and encouragement.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28 KJV).”
A Prayer for the Weary Soul
Dear Heavenly Father,
As we gather in your presence, we are reminded of the incredible bond we share with you. You, loving Father, are our ever-present source of comfort and excellent strength. Today, we lift the weary soul who has been shouldering their burdens for far too long. Though they may feel lost and unsure, in You, they can rediscover their proper direction and purpose. This beautiful soul has worked tirelessly, pouring their resources and connections into providing for others. They may have done all the right things, yet challenges continue to arise, leaving them feeling overwhelmed. As sleepless nights turn into endless worry, and bills mount, it’s easy to forget who they truly are and the security that lies in your unwavering hands. Let us remember, dear ones, that it’s not the systems of this world that hold the key; it’s Jesus, our ultimate Source.
You are the Creator and Ruler of the universe, overseeing everything and everyone with love and care. We often forget that You never abandon your children. Instead, You equip us with a refuge amidst our storms. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walked through the fiery furnace unharmed, You are the same God who protects and delivers us from our trials. You are good, and you delight in showering blessings on those who strive to walk uprightly.
Today, I invite that weary soul to rise with renewed strength and awareness of who loves them deeply, the One who laid down His life on the cross for their sake. Get up and embrace the life that awaits you! Through the power of prayer, we cancel any negativity or doubt that has crept in, empowering you to rise above and thrive.
You are free from the shadows of depression and anxiety. In the name of Jesus, you are a conqueror! May the solid promises of God shine brightly as a beacon of hope and security in your life today and always. Amen.

Empowering Affirmations from the Writer’s Desk
Amidst the relentless waves of uncertainty, when the end of my trials seems far from view, my worship and prayers to God become not only powerful weapons but profound sources of strength. Each day, I actively choose to discard the heavy cloak of fear and anxiety, shedding it like an old, tattered garment.
Instead, I proudly embrace the radiant robe of praise. As I lift my voice in worship during the storm, I can sense the mental chains breaking in my spirit, assured that He has already won the battle. I find my stability in Him, allowing God to anchor my feet, steadfast against the chaos of the world that seeks to disrupt my peace.
The season of lack has come to an end; your inheritance is not just abundance but a rich and bountiful harvest. Rejoice with all your heart, for the time of plenty is here!
Psalm 23:5 AMP
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows.”
